Following a brilliant week of inspiring talks and digital engagement workshops at Wavemaker Stoke last week, this week of the bootcamp programme is focused on exploring the application of different processes and materials to help refine and develop my current practice.
I want to focus on combining creativity and mental health into an art practice that engages the community in making and viewing artworks. Today I have focused on using the design above to test out different materials - mdf, Perspex acrylic, rubber and reflective fabrics on the lasercutter.
I want to use workshops as a platform to gain more insight into people's experiences with mental health and neurological conditions in the local area of North Staffordshire. It is my aim to create exhibitions within the local area to showcase the outcomes of the workshops and raise more awareness and acceptance around these experiences.
I have lots of ideas about various formats for the workshops and I am going to dedicate the rest of this week to develop a workshop toolkit.
