After a long period of travelling and moving from place to place, the external environment was always changing. My internal environment struggled to keep up. Creating art was the only sense of certainty in my life for a long time.
Since slowing down, I have found somewhere to call home for the foreseeable future. This has led me to explore ways to craft and embellishment my new environment.
My investigations continue to span across multiple mediums with the focus on interior objects and wearable pieces.
The aesthetics of my creations are rich in colour and pattern, often collaged with second hand materials that I have gathered during my travels around the world and within my exploration of the local area of North Staffordshire.
I am fascinated by the narrative and history of pre-owned objects. I enjoy the nature of scavenging and bargain hunting, charity shops, carboot sales and second hand shops are often where my search begins. The digital age has also opened up new possibilities for acquisition, through Gumtree, ebay and free and for sale pages on facebook, this allows me to be more specific in my searches.
