This line of exploration manifested in early April 2016, exploring colour ways and pattern formations in a mindful way. Inspired by the nostalgia of Hama beads and an ongoing fascination with pattern repetition.
Finding satisfaction in slowing down the creative process, I began to realise how beneficial the practice has become particularly within my own wellbeing, so I consciously made the decision to strive to create a mandala a day.
Following conversations with fellow Artist and Mindful Stitch practitioner Emma Swinnerton, it became clear we both had very similar interests in pursuing #MandalaADay as a co-creation project.
From the beginning we had a myriad of ideas and aims for developing the project, particularly as we are both permanently geographically separated in England and France, the internet provides an accessible forum in which to share our creations with one another and inspire others.
